As a unified collective of business and civic organizations across Greater Kansas City, we are united in a singular
mission: To keep the Chiefs and Royals in our region. We strongly advocate for swift action to ensure these teams
remain vital regional assets.
Both teams are carefully evaluating their future, conducting due diligence to determine the best path forward.
We respect their processes and remain focused on the singular priority of keeping them in our region. Anything
less would be a major loss for Greater Kansas City and its future.
All of our major league franchises are more than teams; they fuel our economy, strengthen our community, and
are a beloved part of the region’s identity. The Chiefs and Royals represent two of the best ownership groups in
the country. They are both working hard to stay here; it’s up to us to make sure there’s a realistic and positive
public-private partnership that keep them here.
State and local leaders must act decisively, bringing forth their best tools and putting forward their strongest
proposals with the urgency required to keep these teams here. Public leadership must intensify efforts, ensuring
the Chiefs and Royals fully understand their options and feel confident in making the decision to stay in the
region.
Our community is a major league region, and we are committed to keeping it that way. While strides have been
made, time remains our collective enemy in this process. Losing these franchises would erase decades of
progress and pride. Now is the time for leaders, the teams, and the community to unite as partners, identify a
solution, and maintain our region’s momentum – securing our region’s future as a premier sports destination for
generations to come.
