Mozilla will fund projects up to $25K in KC

by Kaitlin Motley | Jan 26, 2016
At the U.S. Ignite event in Washington, D.C., Mozilla announced its $300,000 Mozilla Gigabit Community Fund for 2016. Launching exclusively in Kansas City and Chattanooga, TN, the Fund will be available for projects that demonstrate the impact of next-generation networks on learning.

Projects must be piloted in Kansas City or Chattanooga and focus on workforce development or education. Any company, academic institution or nonprofit organization qualifies.

As Startland News reports, the Fund has already helped to develop 17 pilot projects in KC and Chattanooga. Winning projects can earn between $5,000 and $25,000, plus ongoing support and mentorship from Mozilla.
