KCI Wheels Are Turning

by Lexi Ryan | Feb 25, 2019

The City of Kansas City, Missouri released a statement on Feb. 6 that all airlines at Kansas City International Airport reached an agreement for the new single terminal plan.

The airlines have spent the last several months determining how the cost for the $1.5B terminal will be split among them. The city expects to have the lease agreement signed by Feb. 25.

This announcement will ultimately lead to next steps on the ground breaking and construction timeline. Read about a world-class airport for a world-class city, the new KCI terminal here.

“Edgemoor has been working closely with both the airlines and Kansas City Aviation Department to advance the single-terminal project,” Geoff Sticker, Edgemoor managing director and developer of the project, said. “We are in strong alignment and look forward to beginning an exciting new chapter on this project.”

Kansas City, Missouri residents overwhelmingly approved construction of a new single terminal at KCI by 75 percent in November 2017.

“After seven years of working on this, having this agreement at this point in time is huge,” Mayor Sly James said.
