Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation Opens New Logistics Operation

by Lexi Ryan | May 18, 2018

Congratulations to our partners in Edgerton and Southwest Johnson County on the announcement that Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation, one of the largest automotive and RV aftermarket suppliers, will open a new Midwest distribution center.

The company will initially create more than 100 new supply-chain jobs in a 406,426-sq.-ft. facility in the Inland Port VIII at Logistics Park KC, adjacent to the BNSF Intermodal Facility. The new operation will open in June 2018 with its first shipments following shortly thereafter.

The Edgerton distribution center will accommodate Hopkins’ current growth and provide capacity to support its additional planned growth. The centrally-located modern Edgerton facility will take on distribution from California and Iowa facilities, reaching the greatest distribution points.

The Kansas City Area Development Council was proud to partner with the following organizations in attracting Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation to the KC region:

  • ElevateEdgerton!
  • City of Edgerton
  • Kansas Department of Commerce
  • State of Kansas
  • KCP&L
